Good source for contracts without all of the legalese:
Sub-contractors – things to look out for
- they usually initiate a contract but if they don’t, you should do that
- scope of work/payment
- set expectations for both parties early on!
Discussed sell business vs sell customers, when is the right time to do so. All depends on goals of the business owner.

Image Processing – Photo Smushing
Sheila says she uses the WPHelp plugin (no longer being updated but still works perfectly fine) to provide each client the broad information needed in the Dashboard Help files created by the plugin. She’s reposted for us on her website. Then she’ll also do a custom help entry per client with the exact dimensions various images need on their site.
Need to consider both:
- image dimension
- image weight
It’s best to set dimensions in PhotoShop or similar tool, AND use an image optimizer to reduce the image weight.
- smushit https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/
- ImageOptim (https://imageoptim.com/mac ) is another tool, but only works for the MAC.
